The battle continues above. The kids try to stop the bleeding but have nothing. Their cries for help are swallowed by the noise. Nico and Arden flee separately, each making the same calculation to save themselves. The fight rages on. Then slowly the sound pulls back, narrowing its focus entirely to the kids behind the shelter. The kids continue to desperately look for a solution, until Maya says: "Don't forget me." and she's gone. The awakening that follows is not triumphant - it's grief made physical, 3 kids tearing themselves apart with power they don't understand. Vane and Mordred, at a stalemate, stop. They descend over the kids, and extend their hands, each offering a different channel for their newfound power and rage. The now 3 children, processing the same loss through entirely different eyes, walk in 3 different directions. Iris with Vane, Elias with Mordred. Liam though doesn't pick either. He stays. The ep zooms out till he's a small figure in the wreckage, alone with Maya.
